Geneva
As well as being one of Europe’s most important finance centres, Geneva also
offers a first class "Gateway to the Alps" with many of France and Switzerland’s
finest ski resorts within a couple of hours’ drive of the airport. The city itself boasts
a stunning location on the lake, with excellent shopping opportunities, sophisticated
restaurants and a wide range of hotel options.
Geneva’s famous "Jet d'Eau", its most famous landmark, and the
world's tallest water fountain, provides a constant backdrop for an exploration of the city.
The Old Town offers a living glimpse of the past, while Geneva's many
museums and art galleries capture the rich and vibrant history of the city
including the International Red Cross Museum, the European HQ of the United
Nations, and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCO).
For a change of scenery take a cruise on the lake or relax in one of Geneva's
many waterfront parks. Check out Geneva’s famous Market Street to buy a Swiss
watch, or just indulge in some window shopping on the extravagant Rue de Rive
and Rue du Rhone – just try not to look at the price tags! Relieve those tired feet
(and wallets) at one of the busy cafés on Place du Molard or Place de la Fusterie
for some first class people watching.
