- What is the baggage allowance on Blue Islands' flights?
Each passenger occupying a seat is permitted a free 20kg allowance including hand baggage on all flights. Carriage of any items in excess of the free 20kg allowance is subject to space on the aircraft.

- Do you carry skis or snowboards?
One set of skis or snowboard per person may be carried, subject to space, and only
to and from Zurich and Geneva.

Skis and skiing equipment count as part of the 20kg baggage allowance. - What are the excess baggage charges?
We do not charge for excess baggage but cannot guarantee that it will be accepted
on our flights, as carriage of any items in excess of the free 20kg allowance is subject to space on our aircraft. - What items cannot be carried onboard?
The following dangerous articles are not permitted in baggage:
FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS AND SOLIDS such as lighter or heater fuels, paint, and
matches.
POISONS such as insecticides weed killers, arsenic, and cyanide.
RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL, OXIDISING MATERIALS, and ORGANIC PEROXIDES such as
bleaches and fibreglass repair kits.
FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES. Handguns, automatic weapons, munitions, ammunitions
including blank cartridges, pistol caps, fireworks, flares, smoke canisters,
and crackers.
INFECTIOUS SUBSTANCES such as bacteria and viruses.
CORROSIVES such as mercury, acids, alkalis, and wet-cell batteries.
COMPRESSED GASES. Deeply refrigerated flammable, nonflammable, and poisonous
gases such as butane, oxygen, propane, and aqualung cylinders.

- What should I do if my baggage has been lost or damaged?
If your baggage is damaged, lost or delayed during a flight, you must advise a
member of ground handling staff immediately and before leaving the airport.
Claims for damage after the baggage has been removed from the airport cannot be
considered. In the event of loss or damage to baggage the airline's liability
is normally limited to £15 per kg for checked baggage, and to £285 for
unchecked baggage (regardless of weight).
Passengers are advised to take out their own insurance to cover the value of
their baggage and its contents, Blue Islands will not accept liability for
valuable items (e.g. jewellery, antiques, mobile phones, important documents,
laptops, cash etc.) or fragile items (e.g. breakable items, laptops, etc.).
Blue Islands will not accept responsibility for the damage or loss of
protruding parts such as wheels, straps, pull handles, or other items that are
attached to baggage, or items lost as a result of badly packed baggage. It is
our policy to refund £25 once a bag has been reported missing for 24 hours or
more to contribute towards any emergency purchases whilst awaiting delivery of
delayed luggage (e.g. toiletries etc.)
Claims are dealt with up to the airline's limit of liability based on the
weight of the items concerned. - How do I cancel my booking?
Travel on Blue Islands is not refundable. Cancellations may only be made by calling reservations on + 44 (0)8456 20 21 22. All tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
Please note that all flights with Blue Islands are changeable, so you can change your flights or
names on the ticket up to one hour prior to departure.
You can change either online through this website by selecting 'my booking' on
the home page, or by calling reservations on 08456 20 21 22.Please note that free ticket changes are subject to same fare availability.
- Do you charge a fee if I miss my flight?
If you arrive outside the minimum check-in time printed on your booking
confirmation, you will be deemed as a 'no-show', and denied boarding for the
flight on which you are booked.
If is your responsibility to contact reservations at least one hour prior to
departure; failure to do so will result in losing your ticket, and a refund
will not be issued. - How can I change my booking?
All flights with Blue Islands are changeable, so you can change your flights or

Blue Islands does not apply a fee for changing your booking, although a charge may

Blue Islands does not apply any charge for making alterations, however, changes where the same fare is not available are likely to incur a cost. Route and name changes are only permitted on complete tickets where the outbound flight has not been used. Any fare difference must be paid at the time of altering the ticket, no refunds are available.
- What happens if a flight is delayed or cancelled?
We make every effort to ensure that flights operate on time. In the event that
your seat is cancelled due to your flight not operating for technical or other
non-weather related reasons, you are entitled to cancel and receive a full
refund on the cancelled and return legs.
If the flight is cancelled Blue Islands will re-book passengers onto its next
available flight, although it is not responsible for providing an alternative
means of transport to the original destination or providing accommodation for
delayed or cancelled passengers. - What kind of ticket will I receive?
Blue Islands is a ticketless airline. Once you have booked you will receive a
booking reference by email, which you should keep in case you need to cancel or
change the reservation.
You will require photo ID to travel within the UK and a Passport if travelling
to Zurich or Geneva. - Will I have to reconfirm my booking?
No. When you have made a reservation with Blue Islands, and received a booking

You can check fares using our on-line low fare finder, under "Book Flights".
On the home page, choose your outward and return months of travel and passenger types and press 'select flights'. The low fare finder displays the cheapest fare available each day,
and by clicking on the desired dates, this then reveals the fare per flight.
All fares quoted include taxes. - Does Blue Islands levy and taxes and charges?
As with all airlines, Blue Islands must add taxes and charges levied on us to all
fares, and these vary between airports. Taxes and charges are subject to
change.
- Can I take a wheelchair or similar walking aid onto a Blue Islands flight?
Passengers' folding wheelchairs and pushchairs will be carried free of charge in addition
to their normal baggage allowance, wherever possible. However passengers of
restricted mobility are asked to inform our reservations department in advance
of travel to ensure that additional equipment can be carried. Other large items
may be taken, but only by prior arrangement. If you are taking a wheelchair,
pushchair, or other large or unusual item please call our reservations desk on

Mothers-to-be may travel up to and including the 27th week of their pregnancy, and will be
accepted between the 28th and 34th week on their return flight, if in
possession of a doctor's certificate. - Can Passengers of Restricted Mobility travel on Blue Islands?
Blue Islands will always try to accommodate passengers of restricted mobility; for
example, assistance to wheelchair passengers, mothers-to-be, or those with any
other medical conditions. Restrictions placed upon us by the type of aircraft
in service, however, may mean we cannot cater for all requirements.
All passengers requiring assistance should contact our reservations department
on +44 (0)8456 20 21 22 and give at least 48 hours notice of their requirements so
that we may give advice and put in place the resources to help. The office is
open 0730-2000 weekdays and 0800-2000 at weekends.
- What is online check-in
Blue Islands Online Check-In System offers you the opportunity to
avoid queues at the airport by checking in for your flight at home or in the
office; it is available to passengers travelling with hand baggage only. At the
airport you may proceed directly to the security checkpoint. - How do I use the online check-in
Simply enter your surname and booking reference into the boxes provided. Follow the
simple steps to print your boarding card. If you are carrying hand-baggage only
you may proceed directly to the security checkpoint at the airport. - Can I change my booking after I’ve checked-in online?
Yes, you can alter your flight reservation after you have checked in on-line,
however your original seat selection and boarding card are no longer valid,
once you have altered your booking, please check-in online for your new flight
or proceed to the check-in desk at the airport. - When can I check-in?
Online check-in will open for check-in 48-hours before the scheduled departure time of your
flight and will close 2 hours prior to departure. If you have not checked in
during this time please proceed to the airport check-in desk as normal. - Are there any fees for using online check-in?

- How long before my flight should I be at the gate?
For all domestic flights you must be at the gate at least 15 minutes before
scheduled time of departure, on international flights you must be at the gate
25 minutes before scheduled time of departure. - Can I use online check-in for my return flight as well as my outbound flight?
Yes. You can check-in for your return flight at the same time as your outbound
flight providing the return flight is within 48 hours of your outbound flight. - What happens if I lose my boarding card?
Please make sure you arrive at the airport check-in desk at least 30 minutes before
your flight departure time so that we can re-issue your boarding card. - Can I check-in online if I am taking baggage?
Yes, however you will still need to be at the airport check-in desk at least 30
minutes (40 minutes on international flights) prior to departure to check-in
your baggage. - What are the restrictions on hand baggage?
Each passenger occupying a seat is permitted one piece of cabin baggage with a
maximum weight of 6kg and a maximum size of 40cm x 30cm x 20cm, including
wheels, handles and external pockets.The information below is provided by the Department for Transport and was last updated 15 November 2007.
Each passenger is restricted to carrying only one item of cabin baggage through
the airport search point. Other bags, such as handbags, may be carried within
the single item of cabin baggage.
Where possible, put all liquid items in your hold baggage. This includes water
and other drinks, creams, sprays, pastes and gels.
Liquids, gels and aerosols are only allowed in individual containers of 100ml.
All containers must fit comfortably in one, transparent, re-sealable bag no
larger than 20cm x 20cm (eg a freezer bag).For full details please refer to the Department of Transport website.
- On which Blue Islands routes can I use online check-in?
You may check-in online for all Blue Islands routes. You will need your passport
details when checking in for international flights. - What happens if I check-in online and then miss my flight?

deemed a no-show. Blue Islands will endeavour to accommodate you on the next
available flight on a standby basis, i.e. subject to availability. If there is
not an alternative flight or if it is not possible to accommodate you on the
same day then as a no-show you will not be entitled to a refund for your
original ticket. If you have checked in online and then do not intend to travel
and do not cancel your seat at least one hour prior to departure, you will lose
your ticket, and a refund will not be issued. - Can I select my seat on board the aircraft?
Yes, you will pre-select your seat during the check-in process. Please note however
that it may occasionally be necessary to alter seat assignments at the gate due
to aircraft limitations. - Can I change my seat after I have checked-in online and printed my boarding pass?
Once you have confirmed your seat using our online check-in, you will no longer

No, due to tight regulations unaccompanied children must be presented at the
check-in desk with completed declaration paperwork. - What should I do if I have trouble printing my boarding pass?
If you experience trouble printing your boarding pass, proceed to the airport
within normal check-in time before your flight and the check-in desk staff will
provide you with a printed boarding pass. - Can I check-in online if I have purchased my ticket through a Travel Agent?
Yes as long as you have your booking reference.

- Are there special fares for children or infants?
Infants under the age of two travel for a fare of £10 per flight on all routes
providing they don't require their own seat. - Can children travel alone on Blue Islands ?
Children may travel alone on Blue Islands. Bookings must be made through Blue Islands' reservations, not through our website.
All children travelling alone, aged 8 to 11 years must be booked as an
unaccompanied minor. The unaccompanied minor declaration must be completed on behalf of the child travelling prior to departure. The service ensures the
child is accompanied from check-in through security to the gate, on and off the
aircraft, through baggage reclaim and then handed to the nominated
parent/guardian in the arrivals hall.
Young persons aged 12 to 15 years can be booked as an unaccompanied minor at
the parents'/guardians' discretion, and therefore the procedure outlined above
applies.
Young persons aged 12 to 15 years may be booked to travel alone via Blue
Islands' reservations or website. It is advisable that the parent/guardian
notifies Blue Islands that a young person is travelling, but note the child
will not be escorted through the airport.
