Blue Islands today announce the start of a direct service from Jersey to Bournemouth. Flights will begin on 1st November and fares will start from £59.00 including all taxes and charges, booking can be made now at www.blueislands.com
Following the purchase of additional aircraft, Blue Islands now has the capacity to offer a service direct to Bournemouth on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Rob Veron, Managing Director of Blue Islands is pleased to see this popular destination return to the ever expanding Blue Islands network.
"I'm delighted that we now have the available aircraft to return to Bournemouth. This route will compliment the success of the Southampton product that we offer and provide
passengers with another option on the south coast to travel to directly. As well as Bournemouth being a popular leisure destination for Channel Islanders, this service will be hugely beneficial for students in particular who can enjoy our 'no baggage charges policy' when travelling to and from south coast universities."
David de Carteret, Director of Tourism & Marketing at Jersey Tourism comments,
"The re-opening of the Bournemouth route comes as very good news for the tourism industry. We have previously enjoyed a significant level of business from the Dorset catchment area where we have many loyal visitors and a strong trade network."
Bournemouth Airport is approximately six miles away from the city centre and surrounding areas within easy reach of the airport include Christchurch, Poole, the New Forest, Dorset and Salisbury.
The airport offers over 30 direct destinations worldwide to countries such as Spain, Italy, Canary Islands, Finland and America. Rob Goldsmith, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport welcomes Blue Islands.
"I am, of course, delighted to see that Blue Islands will be returning to Bournemouth Airport. Flights between Bournemouth and the Channel Islands have always been popular, and I'm confident that this new service will prove equally popular with those living in Jersey and here on the south coast."
Bournemouth Airport has recently been voted the 'Best Airport in Europe' in the 1-5 million passenger category of the ACI EUROPE Best Airport Awards.
