New Daily Swiss Service

From the end of March, Blue Islands is increasing its direct flights from Jersey to both Zurich and Geneva from three to six days a week.

A recent survey emailed to all Blue Islands customers asking what the airline could do to improve services across its network resulted in more than 1500 responses with more than half making additional written comments.

Derek Coates, Chairman of Blue Islands said: ‘We always listen to our customers, and the new schedule takes account of very real concerns within the business community about changes to UK legislation in respect of non-domiciled persons. The new rules will penalise passengers when they enter the UK even only for transit; their visits could affect their non-domiciled status and so more and more businessmen will seek to avoid UK airports such as Heathrow and Gatwick. The passenger friendly Zurich and Geneva airports are excellent ‘UK Free’ hubs connecting our islands to the rest of the world.

With increased frequency, passengers to Zurich and Geneva will also be able to return the following day and a later departure time from both destinations, will give the business traveller a full day in both cities.

Passengers will also be pleased to learn that Blue Islands has now launched a new online check-in service making it possible to check in at home or at the office and proceed directly through security, saving time at the airport. Our new redesigned website will also have French and German versions launched when the new summer schedules come into operation at the end of March.’
