*Important message regarding
travel to/from Jersey*

Dear Customer

In line with Government of Jersey travel measures in response to COVID-19, Blue Islands will now be operating a special air service between Southampton and Jersey and Gatwick (North) and Jersey for essential travel only. These services which will remain in place until further notice, will be operated on a non-commercial basis and therefore will be accessible only to passengers who meet the necessary travel criteria outlined below.

The Government of Jersey has imposed restrictions upon those who can travel to and from the Island. Only passengers in the following categories will therefore be able to access Blue Islands flights until further notice:

  • Essential government workers or contractors travelling to/from Jersey for the purposes of their work. Further guidance on the definitions of essential workers can be found Here
  • Essential private or voluntary sector workers for the purposes of their work. Further guidance on the definitions of essential workers can be found Here
  • Those travelling to/from the UK for medical treatment
  • Those travelling to reach a permanent home in Jersey or the UK, or travel on compassionate grounds
  • Non-British nationals travelling to reach a permanent home outside the UK
  • Those travelling for educational purposes

Passengers who do not fall into the above categories should not attempt to book or travel, and will be risking further action should they proceed to do so.

Please note that those travelling to/from the UK for non-emergency medical treatment (both public and private) should not use the Blue Islands booking system. Instead, you should contact the Health and Community Services Patient Travel Team on +44 (0) 1534 442323 or hss.travelservice@health.gov.je,who will process the booking on your behalf.

You should proceed with your booking using the guidance below. Please note that you will be required to complete a health declaration and passenger information form prior to travel, and will be unable to complete your booking until compliance with the above criteria has been verified by Jersey Customs and Immigration Service (JCIS) / the Government of Jersey. Any travellers displaying symptoms related to COVID-19 should not attempt to book or board flights until they have completed the mandatory self-isolation requirements of their local authority. See latest COVID-19 advice

Should you develop symptoms between the time of booking and your flight, you must notify Blue Islands (or HCS Patient Travel Team for medical passengers) immediately.

The Government of Jersey has introduced a trial programme to test passengers for the presence of COVID-19 as they arrive at Jersey Airport, and on subsequent days while they remain in Jersey. Passengers will receive more information and the option to participate in the programme once they have been granted their travel authorisation.

Flights on these routes are restricted and will show as N/A until you enter a valid Promo Code.

Before proceeding to book, you will need to obtain a Promo Code from Jersey Customs & Immigration Service (JCIS) and follow the instructions available here.

  • If you do comply with the necessary travel criteria (with the exception of medical patients), you should proceed with completing the health declaration and passenger information form below.
  • Following this, you will receive a response from JCIS/Government of Jersey to confirm authorisation/denial of travel.
  • Authorised travellers will receive a unique voucher code which can be used on the booking page in order to proceed with flight booking and payment. Essential government employees should use their normal corporate payment card / budget holder to complete their booking.
  • Those who have been denied travel authorisation will receive further information from JCIS/Government of Jersey about next steps, including decision appeal processes.
  • All flights Gatwick (North)-Jersey and Southampton-Jersey will be offered at a flat fare of £100 one way

The Government of Jersey retains the ability to prioritise seats for essential government workers and medical patients over other categories of passenger at no additional liability. Whilst the Government will work closely with Blue Islands to secure availability for as many essential travellers as possible on each flight within social distancing guidelines, neither the Government of Jersey or Blue Islands are responsible for amendments to travel in this event. Affected passengers will be able to rebook their flights at no additional costs.

Jersey Customs and Immigration Service (JCIS) will act as the ‘Controller’ of your data and will use the information you provide in a manner that complies with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

We may need to pass your information to other Government of Jersey departments, agencies and bodies. Examples of this include, but are not limited to the External Relations Department, Health & Community Services and the Police.
