Lucy O’Sullivan fires her way towards Archery GB finals with the #mybi Flight Fund
Lucy O’Sullivan has been an archer for Great Britain for 15 years and has received many caps, representing GB this year at competitions in Shanghai (China), Bucharest (Romania), and Istanbul (Turkey).
As part of the #mybi Flight Fund, Blue Islands has provided Lucy with flights to enable her to participate in the 2019 Archery GB National Tour. The tour consists of seven legs and second place finish at one of the legs put her in a good position for getting to the 2019 finals.
This year has been so busy already with international events, that the UK events have had to go on hold due to extra costs. But with the help of Blue Islands, I was able to fly to the UK to compete at this event. And luckily a sponsor in Jersey helped me with costs for hire cars. Without the help of the Blue Islands #mybi Flight Fund I wouldn’t have come 2nd at this event and continue my journey to the finals at the end of the year!
The year has been successful internationally for Lucy; with a 5th place finish in Europe, and an 11th place seeding at a World Cup.
But now it’s time for Lucy to buckle down for the UK events, that will see her qualify for events such as the World Championships and European championships in 2020 and 2021. With a good UK ranking, archers are able to compete internationally and thanks to Blue Islands’ support she can focus on winning!
