Blue Islands, the Jersey-based airline, has suspended operations with immediate effect and is considering its options.

All Blue Islands flights have been cancelled.  Passengers expecting to fly should not go to the airport unless they have made alternative travel arrangements with another airline.  For those with Blue Islands reservations:

  • For bookings made directly with Blue Islands, please contact your bank or provider of the payment card used to make the booking;
  • For bookings made through our codeshare partner Aurigny but travelling on a Blue Islands flight, please contact Aurigny directly – some flights may still be operating;
  • For bookings made through a travel agent or holiday company, please contact the company through whom you booked for advice and guidance.

“After 26 years of serving the Channel Islands, we deeply regret that Blue Islands has this evening suspended its operations,” said a spokesperson.  “After very constructive dialogue with Government of Jersey in recent months, including what we understood to have been ongoing assessments of the future options, we were informed this afternoon that they are unable to provide further support.  This has meant that we now need to suspend flying immediately whilst we consider the options available and how we can help our customers, staff and stakeholders.”

Twice-weekly direct flights between Jersey and Paris Charles de Gaulle have taken off

STRONG DEMAND FOLLOWS SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF NEW PARIS SERVICE

Blue Islands successfully launched its new direct service between Jersey and Paris Charles de Gaulle a month ago, with the route seeing strong demand from islanders and visitors alike.

“Whether it’s a weekend of art, shopping café hopping, or family fun at Disneyland Paris, Islanders can enjoy everything this wonderful city has to offer direct from Jersey, while visitors from France can discover our beautiful island.” said Blue Islands CEO, Rob Veron. “The connection with Paris not only supports Jersey’s visitor economy but also deepens the long-standing cultural and economic ties between Jersey and France. There is strong demand for our direct connection to one of Europe’s most exciting cities. We are particularly pleased that 23% of passengers are originating in Paris, which we expect to continue as promotional activity further boosts awareness in the French market.”

The launch of twice-weekly flights, operating every Monday and Thursday until 30 October 2025 mark a significant addition to Jersey’s air connectivity, providing a seamless direct link to the French capital. Passengers on the inaugural flight enjoyed a gate-side send-off at Jersey Airport attended by representatives from Ports of Jersey and Visit Jersey.

Ports of Jersey’s CEO, Matt Thomas, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Blue Islands’ direct service between Jersey and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. This marks a significant milestone in enhancing Jersey’s European connectivity, allowing islanders convenient access to one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.  It means we now provide direct access from Jersey Airport to fifteen European destinations in 2025. I hope the route will prove popular with both Islanders and our French neighbours.”

The Paris service provides convenient access to one of Europe’s most iconic cities. With Charles de Gaulle Airport also serving as a major international hub, passengers can benefit from smooth onward travel across Europe and beyond.
